Franco-Korean workshop in Cadarache on magnetotactic bacteria
An international collaboration is being set up to develop applications based on magnetotactic bacteria.
On July 11, 2019 a workshop on magnetotactic bacteria was held at the Cadarache Castle. European (English, French and German) and Korean researchers have laid the foundations for a future international collaboration to develop applications from these bacteria and their magnetosomes. The project is coordinated by the KIST Europe, the Korean Institute of Science and Technology in Saarbrücken (Germany).
On the European side, the BIAM team will use its expertise to supply the consortium with bacteria and magnetosomes.
The Korean teams will focus on downstream research to explore the applications of these materials from living organisms. KIST will coordinate the proposal application for this collaboration.
